Teeth can be as revealing of age as wrinkles, thinning hair and receding hairlines. As men and women grow older, wear and tear on teeth take their toll. Stained teeth, receding gum lines and worn-down teeth are visible signs of aging. The need for improvements to your teeth increases dramatically after the age of thirty. Nice looking teeth are indications of a persons health, age, status, and personality all thrown into one.
Two important treatments to reverse the aging signs include bleaching and Porcelain Veneers.

Perhaps the greatest Cosmetic achievement to ever happen in Dentistry was the
inception of Porcelain Veneers. I was fortunately among the first dentists to adopt them back in early 1982, and have been refining and improving on the technique ever since.
The color and vitality have improved over the years but the concept still remains the same. They are finger-nail thick, porcelain coverings that are bonded to the surface of anterior teeth. They can close gaps, straighten crooked teeth, mask stains, lighten teeth, add length to worn dentition, improve the smile-line, and even eliminate wrinkles from the upper lip by adding fullness. It is appropriate to say that they, indeed are the "fountain of youth" for people who have them.
It is a miracle of dentistry that a dramatic shift towards youthfulness can occur simply by applying cosmetic improvements to the surface of aging teeth.
Technique
- Teeth are prepared at the office, conservatively removing the necessary tooth enamel to accomodate the veneers.
- Impressions are taken to be sent to the laboratory.
- The entire procedure takes about 1 to 2 hours for 6 to 8 teeth.
- You will have temporaries that you can wear between office appointments.
- In 5 to 10 days, the new veneers are bonded into place, taking about 3 hours for the completion of this appointment.
- The Veneers will look and feel like your own teeth immediately, and restore the keen, clean look of youth.
